Summer Swim Team: Well done to all the
swimmers who competed this past weekend in the swim meets at
Frog’s and Helix HS. Many swimmers saw huge time drops
in most of their events, and all the coaches are very proud of
you! You all continue to improve and swim fast. We have
another meet this Saturday, July 31. All PS teams will swim
at Poway Community Pool. Warm-up is at 10:00am, and the meet
will begin at 10:30am. Any swimmers who are unable to
participate in this meet, but would like to participate in the
Championship Meet on August 6th, please turn in your meet cards to
Rancho Arbolitos and note what events you would like to enter for
the meet by Monday, August 2.
Summer Team Pictures are in! Please collect
your pictures and your team shirts at Rancho Arbolitos.
Congratulations to the Zone Team. This team will be
traveling to San Jose to compete. The following swimmers will
be competing from Pacific Swim: Nguyen Hong, Kyle Mak, Justin
Ferrell, Alexander Santana, Brendan Santana and Jun Bang.

Our Senior swimmers competed at Sectionals in Los Angeles this
past weekend and did exceptionally well. There were several
team records broken, and many great swims. We will have a
meet report within the next week.
The JO MAXX meet is coming up on August
6-8. Please note that any swimmers with 6 or more JO times
cannot compete at this meet. Those with JO times in any event
cannot compete in that event.
JO’s Meet dates: August 19th to 22nd.
Please note that if you have a valid JO cut we are expecting you to
participate in the JO meet. If you are going to be
unavailable during the JO meet, please email
gary@pacificswim.com so we know you are not participating,
and we can avoid placing you on our team relays.
Championship Dinner on Wednesday, August 18: This
dinner is for all swimmers with JO and Sectional time standards and
their families. The dinner will be at Rancho Arbolitos at
6:30pm, and will be a potluck dinner. You should bring your
swimmers FAVORITE dish, with enough to feed 10 people. Last
Name A-P a savory dish, Last Name Q-Z a dessert.
IMPORTANT REMINDER REGARDING MEET ENTRIES
We need to remind and clarify with all of our team members our
policy regarding refunds for entered meets. PS will not
refund or credit any member of the team that signs up to attend a
meet and can not attend or does not attend. Once the meet
entries are finalized we pre-pay for all of our swimmers with the
host team. The host team does not and will never allow for
refunds. Therefore we do not grant refunds. If your
Coach signs you up to attend a meet then it is the responsibility
of the Parents and swimmer to make sure they can attend.
Please make sure you are able to attend prior to completing your
meet entry sign up.
Information to help with your summer
schedule: Pacific Swim Competitive Groups (Red,
White, Silver, Green and Blue) will take a break from August 23
– September 7. Gold Group will take a break June 13-19
and August 23-29. The Novice Groups will take a break from
August 23- September 7
Save the Date for our Annual Awards
Banquet! Pacific Swim hosts an annual awards banquet
each year, where all swimmers of every level are recognized for
their achievements and accomplishments over the past year.
The banquet is a great, fun event for everyone involved. This
year it will be held on Saturday, October 9 from 3:00-6:00pm at
Poway Lake. Please save the date on your calendar for this fun
event. Tickets will be sold at RA starting August 15th. You must
pre-purchase a ticket to attend!
